As of right now I am working on finalizing my thesis as well as starting on my introduction. I think I will be having some trouble in finding any information on culinary arts in the library database. So far my searches through the library’s website has brought me little to nothing to work with. Although my initial searches has not been as succesful as I had anticipated, I am sure I will find useful sources in other places. I plan in aiming my search efforts towards magazine articles and possible culinary periodicals written by actual chefs on their experiences on a culinary lifestyle. Other than difficulties in finding tangible sources, I think I would not have any trouble writing about my topic.
I don’t know much about the culinary arts, but i think a good way to get some information is to look at some culinary schools that you’re interested in.
Hi JEricho,
I just did a quick search in one of the databases I recommend on the handout I gave you, and I got 22 hits; I did a quick read through of those hits, and I found TWO great articles on “careers” in the “culinary arts.” (Those were my search terms.) You should go back into the databases that let you search for journal and periodical articles and search again; there’s lots out there.
Change your search terms here and there; you will get different results. Consult with a librarian, too; they really now how to run a good search on a wide range of topics.
