This essay is turning out to be one of the most unnecessarily complicated pieces of writing I ever had to do. I don’t understand how one can take a very specific personal topic and turn it into a research essay anyone would care about. Unless the reader is doing a report on the life of the writer this project doesn’t make sense to me. How can I make something so personal interesting to others? But fine; I’ll try.
So far I’m going down my list of sources and writing up summaries for each of them. What I’ve noticed, what I’ve learned about the experience, whether or not it was a good idea… etc. Basically, this is the research part of the paper. No actual drafting has been done. One of the problems I ran into was the fact that THERE ARE SO MANY COMPUTERS out there and I am being referred to more of then than I can handle. I came back from Best Buy the other day and made a short summary of what the representative and I discussed. He recommended 6 different models. How on earth can I work with six different computers?! I suppose this could be a good part of the paper: there are a ton of laptops out there and half of them aren’t worth a thing. Secondly, I found a book about the things one should look for in a computer to get the best for their money. It was filled with nonsense about things no one actually needs to know. On the bright side, I learned what a PCMCIA was… although if you asked me what a chipset was I wouldn’t be able to answer you.
Seacrest Leynov out.
P.S. Isn’t this 3.4?
